The taming of Origo.hu, the country's leading news website, was part of the deal between the Hungarian Government and Deutsche Telekom to secure the German-owned company a business deal in Hungary. The news website's editor-in-chief, Gergő Sáling was dismissed because he was regarded as an obstacle.
